This isn't quite like the game "Where's Waldo." Amy Bickford, Tonia Omspach, Judy Kern and Shirley Carna...along with other folks from the outreach offices and Brenda Kornmiller...are all easy to find. But don't look in the old familiar places. You can find each of them in "new digs."
"As we continue to work on partnerships and projects leading to productive growth in the engineering and industrial programs, having my office in close proximity to the 'center of the project' is both a benefit and a convenience," said Brenda Kornmiller, dean of business, engineering and industrial technologies, about her move to the engineering wing office that formerly housed the outreach offices. The area in E103 is now dedicated to faculty from the engineering and industrial technology division, the dean's office and the administrative assistant area, occupied by Tonia Omspach.
Meanwhile, the business wing includes a new face as Amy Bickford takes up part-time residence as administrative assistant in the business programs office. Amy will provide support in the business wing "in person" from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, then transfer to the A&S building from 2 p.m. until 4:30 each day. This arrangement provides continuous administrative assistant support for all three divisions: business, engineering and industrial technology and arts & sciences.
Moving into "brand new" quarters, the outreach offices are synergized in a central shared space in the library, where administrative offices used to be housed. The area was remodeled this summer.
"The library location provides an area dedicated to the outreach programs and the important work they do," said Ann Hontz, dean for enrollment management. "Our outreach personnel do a lot of their work off-campus in the heart of our service area," Ann said, "and the library offices provide convenient access for outreach visitors to campus as well as for the comings and goings of the outreach personnel."
The moves also provide for the addition of a classroom, as the area previously used for some of the outreach offices-- has been transformed. |
