Welcome to Washington State Community College Career Services. It is important that students think about career development early in their academic pursuits. We are here to assist students with resume writing, interview skills and job opportunities. While you're a student at Washington State Community College, prepare your resume, network with industry professionals, join Ohio Means Jobs, and participate in career fairs to successfully obtain gainful employment.

SPRING JOB FAIR AT WSCC – March 15, 2016 from 4:30-6pm*

*4:30-5:00pm - Early entry for WSCC students, alumni & veterans
5:00-6:00pm - Open to the public

All attendees should come with a resume and dressed for an interview.

Career Corner - Center for Student Success

Drop-in hours are available Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. If your schedule does not permit these times, contact Nicole Kuhn in Student Services to set up an individualized appointment.


At Washington State Community College, we want to help you on your path to an exciting career! If you are not sure where to begin, or you are undecided about a major, consider taking a skills assessment which can match your abilities with a good career choice.

Operated by the Ohio Board of Regents, Ohio Means Success is a new website designed to help students prepare for college and explore different careers. Users can take skills assessments to find careers to match their personality, research degree options, and learn about internships and co-ops. Find out which industries are in demand in Ohio.

If you're having a hard time choosing a major at Washington State Community College, consider using the Ohio Means Success tools to help you decide. In addition, you should gather information about different majors and career opportunities, talk with industry professionals, and carefully evaluate your options.

OhioMeansInternships – Internships are a great way to enhance your program of study and gain soft skills. In some situations, internships can also help secure full-time employment upon graduation.

Career One Stop Resume Guide – Whether you are creating your first resume or updating an existing one, the Career One Stop Resume Guide is a great resource for help.

Occupational Outlook Handbook – Operated by the United States Department of Labor, The Occupational Outlook Handbook provides users with occupation profiles, employment projections, and other information.

Ohio Means Jobs - Washington County – For FREE assistance with employment, consider contacting OhioMeansJobs – Washington County. Basic services include career planning and resumes, job interviewing, and other workshops. Their free resource room provides computers, printers, telephones, fax machines, etc. Staff is available on-site to help you complete online job applications and much more! Workforce WV – Residents of the Mid-Ohio Valley might benefit from some of the FREE core services at Workforce West Virginia. Resume assistance, job searching, etc. Call the Parkersburg location at 304-420-4625 for more information.
