WSCC Announces Commencement and Pinning Week

MARIETTA, Ohio (May 8, 2017) --Washington State Community College (WSCC) is pleased to announce its 2016-2017 graduating class. The college will recognize more than 200 students who will receive degrees from Arts and Sciences; Health and Wellness; Business Technologies; and Engineering and Industrial Technologies and Public Services. Pinning and commencement ceremonies will take place throughout the week beginning May 9 and will conclude with WSCC’s official commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 13 in Graham Auditorium. This year, in addition to marking its 45th anniversary, the college will also celebrate its 10,000th graduate.

WSCC PTK Members Honored at Statehouse

MARIETTA, OH (May 3, 2017)--WSCC’s Alpha Rho Gamma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa announced two of its members were selected to the Ohio Association of Community College All-Ohio Academic Team. Rachael Howard and Jeremy Dotson along with more than 50 other Ohio students were recently honored at a luncheon and ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium.

Strong Work Ethic Key to Student's Success

MARIETTA, OH (April 6, 2017)--Don Jox is burning the candle at both ends as he’s making his mark in the education arena at Washington State Community College (WSCC). The 59-year-old entrepreneur runs his small business, goes to school full-time, is actively involved on campus and manages to maintain honors-level grades. While his active life leaves little time for sleep, it has gained him some notoriety on campus as April’s Student of the Month.

WSCC's Practical Nursing Program Opens Enrollment to High School Seniors

MARIETTA, OH (March 30, 2017)—The Practical Nursing program at Washington State Community College (WSCC) recently announced plans to create a nursing pathway for College Credit Plus (CCP) students. The opportunity will help high school students blaze a path toward earning their certificate in Practical Nursing (PN), and upon successful completion, put them in a position to earn their Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in only one additional year.

Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series Presents the Guitar Stylings of Julio Ribeiro Alves

MARIETTA, OH (March 28, 2017) — The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series at Washington State Community College (WSCC) in collaboration with the Schwendeman Agency, Inc. and the Marietta Community Foundation announce an upcoming presentation of "Spring Tales: An Evening of Guitar Music” with Júlio Ribeiro Alves.

Dr. Alves will perform on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Graham Auditorium on the campus of Washington State Community College. He will be joined by local performers, David Puls on violin, and Cynthia Puls on cello. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required, but seating is limited and is on a first come, first served basis.
