Local law enforcement officers, representatives from MILO Range, Dr. Bradley Ebersole, President of WSCC, Gary Williams, Executive Director of Foundation at WSCC, several OPOTA students, and two instructors were present for the unveiling. The $32,000 simulator (funded by a grant from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services) from MILO Range Training Systems (MRTS) is based on a high-tech computer system that projects life-sized video and graphics-based exercises that simulate real-life situations onto a large screen. During a simulation, the officers are equipped with laser-modified weapons replicating what they would carry when on duty.
"The addition of this state of the art Force Options Training Simulator to the Center for Public Safety Training adds an entirely new dimension to our training capabilities and outreach programs. The simulator will be a significant benefit to all law enforcement agencies throughout Southeast Ohio that choose to participate in the program.
