Ohio 94th District Representative Debbie Phillips visited the Washington State Community College (WSCC) campus on Tuesday, April 17th to kick off Green Week and Earth Day celebrations at the college. Rep. Phillips began her tour of campus meeting with WSCC President Dr. Bradley Ebersole and Ken Schilling, Chair of the WSCC Board of Trustees. Next, Rep. Phillips met Business, Engineering and Industry Technologies professors Janet Schilling, and Bob Feathers, as well as Chief Academic Officer Dr. Mark Nutter, to discuss the college's Oil and Gas Training Strategy during a tour of the Engineering Wing. Rep. Phillips also viewed and toured the Agribusiness Lab and Greenhouse, recently constructed in 2010; Agribusiness Management Professor Sara Camacho spoke with Rep. Phillips about WSCC's Agribusiness degree program.

The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series of Washington State Community College (WSCC) will present the 8th program of its 13th season, with a performance of "Life in Motion" by famous marionette-puppeteer Joseph Cashore.

There were over 30 unique and tasty cakes presented during the Tina Schaad Memorial Cake Auction on April 4th. The cake with the highest bid was baked by Becky Putnam. Adelaide Hirschi won People’s Choice and the two “lucky bakers” drawn at random were Sally Hale and 2 Peas in a Pod Florist.

Approximately 46 students from the Washington County Career Center, Morgan, and Meigs high schools competed in a variety of career-technical programs, with capstone projects that emphasized and brought together all aspects of their education and training. This competition happened during the College Tech Prep Regional Showcase, held at Washington State Community College (WSCC) on March 23. Judging began in the Commons area of the Main Building at 9 a.m. with an awards presentation at 12 p.m. in the Graham Auditorium in the Arts & Sciences Building.

The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series of Washington State Community College (WSCC) will present the 7th program of its 13th season, with local naturalist, artist, author and ecologist Julie Zickefoose, who will read from her newly published book The Bluebird Effect: Uncommon Bonds with Common Birds.
