evergreen child dev ctrMARIETTA, Ohio (February 24, 2015) – Washington State Community College (WSCC) proudly announces that the Evergreen Child Development Center (on WSCC's campus) has achieved a 5-Star Rating through Step Up to Quality, Ohio's quality rating and improvement system for early learning programs. The Evergreen Child Development Center is Washington County's only 5-Star Center, which is the highest star-rating a program can attain. The Center has also maintained their National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation, which lasts for five years.


IMG 7768mwart1MARIETTA, Ohio (February 19, 2015) – The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series at Washington State Community College (WSCC) announces the Spring Art Exhibit and Featured Artist, Michelle Waters. Michelle is a graduate of Akron University with a specialty in photography and printmaking. Her exhibit will be on display in the auditorium lobby and 2nd floor hall gallery of the Arts & Sciences Building on WSCC's campus. The official opening for her exhibit will be held on Saturday evening, April 11th but the public is invited to view prior to that date.

MARIETTA, Ohio (February 17, 2015) – The Washington State Community College (WSCC) Foundation is happy to announce that WSCC students will have more scholarship opportunities available in the 2015-16 school year thanks to the generosity of several donors. Adding to an existing base of more than $55,000 awarded through the Foundation, these new scholarships include: The Holmes Family Scholarship, the WSCC Foundation Alumni & Friends Association Scholarship, the Barrett-Hager Scholarship for Excellence and Leadership in Industrial and Engineering Technologies, the James R. Farley Sr. Scholarship, the Kenneth Funk Memorial Scholarship, and the expansion of the Bettie B. Goehring Memorial Scholarship. The application deadline for most Foundation scholarships is April 16, 2015. All scholarships require a completed application, a completed FAFSA on file, and are only applicable towards tuition, fees and books, in that order.


MARIETTA, Ohio (February 12, 2015) – Washington State Community College (WSCC) proudly announces and congratulates the students who earned Dean’s List and President’s List for fall 2014. To achieve Dean’s List, students must have a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99. The requirement for President’s List for a full-time student carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours is a GPA of 4.0 for a semester’s work.


Early College Academy Crest WhiteMARIETTA, Ohio (February 10, 2015) – The month of February is Early College Month and Washington State Community College (WSCC) is celebrating with the introduction of the WSCC Early College Academy. For years, WSCC has offered area high school students the opportunity to earn college credit while attending high school. The most familiar of these programs at WSCC was PSEO (post-secondary enrollment option). Recently, the Ohio Board of Regents announced changes to early college options; giving students and their families more flexibility. During a visit to WSCC last August, Chancellor John Carey, discussed the State's vision for early college options which have been renamed College Credit Plus.
