Tara Freshour, Instructor of Developmental Studies (English and Reading) and Freshman Experience, earned her MA degree from West Virginia University in Reading. She began teaching at WSCC in January 2012.
Dr. Dean Hirschi is a Professor of Physics, Geology, and Astronomy at WSCC. Dr. Hirschi was recently recognized for twenty years of service at WSCC. He is also the organizer for the YES Days program at WSCC. Dr. Hirschi's son Dean is a recent graduate of the Arts & Sciences Division, graduating as a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
Dr. Deborah Thomas is Professor of Psychology at WSCC. Dr. Thomas was recognized in May for twenty years of dedication at WSCC. She is a TIBI Board Member- The International Behaviorology Institute, Ltd. Dr. Thomas was recently honored at Fort Frye High School's Annual National Honor Society Teacher Recognition dinner. She worked in clinical practice as a child and family therapist in West Virginia and has been licensed as a counselor and social worker.
Dr. Jennifer Dennis is a Biology Instructor and Cadaver & Anatomy Lab Coordinator at WSCC. Dr. Dennis is Owner/Chiropractor of Back2Back in Marietta. She is an Ambassador for Marietta Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Member, and Vice President of Habitat For Humanity of Washington County.
Dr. Amanda Anderson is an Associate Professor of English/Communication at WSCC. Dr. Anderson recently obtained her doctorate from the University of Louisiana. Her dissertation explores the cultural significance of "Beauty and the Beast." She has taught writing and literature courses at WSCC for three years. She has worked as an associate editor on Turning Points and Transformations, and organized a panel on the cultural indoctrination of American girls for the 2013 Children's Literature Association Conference in Biloxi, Mississippi.
