November marked the start of my first quarter of Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) advising. I started with a few PSEO students and several Early Enrollment Program (EEP) students. After the third day of transitioning to advising, I started with a full schedule of appointments.

I met with seniors during the first two weeks of advising, juniors during the next two, and sophomores and freshman the last part of the month. I had back to back appointments and stayed late whenever necessary. I was surprised by what I knew, but I also continued to learn a great deal every day.

It was a great experience to meet with students and help them choose classes that would not only fulfill high school graduation requirements, but would also count toward college credit. One of the best aspects about my first experience with PSEO advising is that the Assistant Director of Advising and I were able to have all but around 17 of the 340 WSSC PSEO students registered by the end of November!
