I always tell our students ‘You will make a difference in people’s lives,’” says Warren.
“I am very excited of our practical nursing students,” says Dr. Dixie Vaughan, WSCC dean of health sciences, “However, I expect our students to score well. The faculty in the practical nursing program are very well qualified and dedicated to the nursing profession and to the education of student nurses. The practical nursing students are held to very high standards.”
The WSCC Practical Nursing (PN) program is offered as either a one-year, full-time day program or two-year, part-time evening program with both classroom studies and clinical experiences. The PN program works with local health care facilities including Marietta Memorial Hospital, Selby General Hospital, Harmar Place, and Heartland of Marietta. The Practical Nursing program is fully approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
