WSCC Announces Presidential Finalists
MARIETTA, OH (March 17, 2017)--The Washington State Community College (WSCC) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that three finalists for the presidency of WSCC have been selected. The candidates were recruited from a very strong pool from throughout the state, region and nation.
The WSCC Presidential finalists are (in alphabetical order):
Kristin Mallory, Ed.D., is the Provost at BridgeValley Community and Technical College. She is currently the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at BridgeValley Community and Technical College. She earned an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene and Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from West Liberty State College, a Master of Education, from Salisbury State University and a Doctor of Education from Marshall University.
Mike Sherman, Ph.D., is an Educational Consultant for the Ohio Department of Education. Previously, he was the Senior Vice President and Provost/Chief Operating Officer at the University of Akron. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University, a Master of Science in Biology from Ball State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Physical and Health Education from the University of Texas.
Vicky Wood, Ph.D., is the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services at Marion Technical College. Previously, she was the Dean of Business Information Technologies and Criminal Justice at Marion Technical College. She earned an Associate of Applied Business from Marion Technical College, a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ashland College, a Master of Education from Bowling Green State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Leadership from The University of Toledo.
Each presidential finalist will participate in open forums on WSCC’s campus. These forums are open to faculty, administrators, staff, students and the general public. There will be a brief introduction of each candidate followed by a question and answer session. Feedback forms will be given to all who attend and the completed forms will be collected at the end of each forum and given to the Board of Trustees for review.
