MARIETTA, Ohio (December 4, 2014) – The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series at Washington State Community College (WSCC) wraps up the first half of the season with a performance by Michael Mao Dance Company. The dancers will take the stage in Graham Auditorium on Saturday, December 13th at 7:30pm. The performance is free. The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series will continue its 16th Season in February with a children's performance.

WSCC encourages continuing students to register before leaving for holiday break. Again this year, your first payment is not due until 2015. Take this opportunity to have a worry free holiday break. Secure your seat and make sure you get the classes you need before they fill up. Registering early offers many benefits! Students are able to register online as well as in person. Take part in the "12 Days of Registration" Scavenger Hunt or make an appointment for Saturday Registration. With the first payment not due until January 2015, why not register early?

MARIETTA, Ohio (December 3, 2014) – Washington State Community College was host to the Ohio Economic Development Association conference on 'Economic Development 101' this past Friday, November 21. The conference brought together approximately 120 economic development professionals, educational leaders, elected officials, and government officials to discuss means for Ohio to improve factors that build the economy of the state. Speakers included Superintendent Chris Kaylor of the Ohio Valley Educational Service Center, Ms. Chris Schmenk of Bricker and Eckler LLP, Norm Blanchard Economic Development Director Cambridge-Guernsey County CIC and others. The conference was sponsored by AEP which presented $10,000 scholarships to participants of a special economic development course.

MARIETTA, Ohio (December 3, 2014) – By special invitation, Washington State Community College (WSCC) President, Bradley Ebersole attended the American Association of Community Colleges' summit, held in Arlington, Virginia, on 'Next Big Things'. This event was designed for community college presidents across the country to identify trends and future directions of the American community college. Dr. Ebersole has also been asked to serve as treasurer for the Ohio Association of Community Colleges which includes serving on the association executive committee, and has been appointed by the Washington County Commissioners to the regional Workforce Investment Board (WIB) which assists in allocating federal workforce funds.

MARIETTA, Ohio (October 1, 2014) – Washington State Community College (WSCC) announces a new Honors Program to begin in the fall of 2015. The WSCC Honors Program targets high-achieving high school and nontraditional students with plans to transfer to a four-year institution after earning their Associates Degree. The deadline to apply is February 9, 2015.
