Welding Instructor Josh Horner in beginning stages of new lab

MARIETTA, Ohio (August 28, 2014) – Dr. Bradley Ebersole, President of Washington State Community College (WSCC), welcomed area dignitaries to cut the ribbon on the new state-of-the-art welding lab at WSCC. The new state-of-the-art welding lab at WSCC compliments the new welding certificate program. Certification based on AWS- American Welding Society will be available to students as well. The new state-of-the-art lab and equipment makes the welding program at WSCC stand out from others in the area. Representative Thompson said after the ceremony, "I couldn't be happier for Washington State Community College, its faculty, and the many students who will benefit from this new welding program. I know it was many years in the making and I'm pleased that this goal has been accomplished."

MARIETTA, Ohio (August 21, 2014) – On Monday, August 11th, Washington State Community College (WSCC) accepted the keys to a pumper fire truck from the Belpre Volunteer Fire Department during the Belpre City Council meeting. Dr. Bradley Ebersole, President of WSCC and John Burdette, Director, Center for Public Safety Training at WSCC gratefully accepted the donation to the Volunteer Fire Fighter Academy. "Supported by the Ohio State Fire Academy and Fire Marshal Flowers, we've been working with local fire departments and fire chiefs for the last 2 years to establish a viable fire training program. Thanks to the generosity of the City of Belpre, and the efforts of our Fire Advisory Board, we're seeing those efforts come to fruition. We're deeply grateful for all that assistance," said Burdette. Other WSCC Senior Administrators attending the council meeting were: Dr. Mark Nutter, Vice President of Academic Affairs; Gary Williams, Executive Director for the Foundation & Grant Development; and Claudia Owens, Executive Director, Marketing and Public Relations.

MARIETTA, Ohio (August 7, 2014) – Washington State Community College (WSCC) proudly announces the students that made the Dean's List and the President's List for Summer Term 2014. Congratulations to Jonathan Arbuckle, Ivy Carlsen, Reva Fielder, Caitlyn Markey, all of Washington County, and Melissa Jones of Morgan County for making the Dean's List. WSCC would also like to congratulate Jarrah Huck and Michael Ogaz of Washington County and Sean Shoop of Wood County for making the President's List. "The college is very proud of this group of students who have worked diligently to excel in their courses. We congratulate them on their achievement," said Dr. Mark Nutter, Vice President for Academic Affairs at WSCC.

MARIETTA, Ohio (August 4, 2014) – Summer is almost over therefore Student Services and the Business Office at Washington State Community College (WSCC) will be holding extended office hours on Saturday, August 9th from 9am to noon. Amanda Herb, Vice President of Enrollment and Student Success at WSCC stated that new students will be served that day through admissions, financial aid, and first-term advising. Recent high school graduates, adult students, and current WSCC students are encouraged to schedule an appointment to assure that they will have the time needed to go over financial aid, advising, and scheduling.
