Business Administration Transfer

A student can complete the Business Administration Transfer (BAT) degree as a full-time day student, a full-time night student, or part-time either day or night.  Many of the classes for the degree are also offered online, but the entire degree is not yet offered that way.

Since the BAT degree is intended as the first two years of a four-year bachelor's degree in business related fields, the actual Washington State Community College degree constitutes what may be considered a "ticket" which entitles the graduate to achieve advanced standing-usually as a Junior- at a four-year college or university.  Within the state of Ohio, transferability to Ohio pubic colleges and universities is fairly smooth and seamless due to Ohio's Transfer Module and Transfer Assurance Guides.  Additionally, most Ohio private colleges and universities also recognize and accept BAT degrees from Washington State Community College.  Many colleges and universities outside Ohio also accept Washington State Community College's BAT degree since they are aware of the transferability program within Ohio.  In all cases, the student should check with the school he or she hopes to transfer to for the most up-to-date and accurate information.

BAT Degree Program Goals

  • Offer an Associate of Arts degree in business through the transfer program to serve the needs of the residents and businesses of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
  • Provide two years of general and business courses which support a baccalaureate degree.
  • Uphold and support the institutional goals of Washington State Community College.

At the time this web page was created, Washington State Community College was in the process of restructuring the BAT degree to make it even more smoothly transfer to various four-year schools.  Call for current information on specific class requirements for the degree.  (See below.)
