Upon Completion

Once this program is completed students will be prepared for entry level jobs in the various Agriculture fields.

Careers

Agriculture sales, management & marketing, field agronomist, farmer/production agriculturalist, crop consultant, field crop scout, horticultural assistant, agrichemical, fertilizer and seed sales rep, grain marketing/operations, fertilizer, plant protection and feed sales and services, agricultural lending, soil conservation, landscaping operator/designer, retail supply sales and merchandising and more.

New developments in agriculture: agritourism, aquaculture, agrosecurity and training in green technology/sustainability.


Graduates of the agribusiness program will be able to:
  • Produce and present both oral and written technical reports.
  • Describe current trends surrounding the agricultural industry.
  • Analyze basic accounting and economics revolving around agribusiness.
  • Describe the plant life cycle and the effects of weather, location and other factors on growing     successful crops.
  • Outline marketing and business principles to create an effective product presentation and sale.
  • Compare the similarities and differences pertaining to the values and characteristics of various cultures.
