Reminder there will be a one hour delay tomorrow, November 4.

Shirock tickets will be sold during study hall, during both lunches, and in the office during 6th period. Tickets are $1.

SHIROCK an alternative band from Nashville, Tennessee, will be live in concert at Marietta High School today, November 3, during 6th and 7th periods! You have probably heard Shirock on MTV’s The Hills and on ABC’s Brothers and Sisters. Admission is $1. Tickets can be purchased in advance during lunch or at the door the day of the show. The band will bring CD’s and t-shirts so bring extra cash if you want! Shirock is excited to come back to Marietta High School…. We can’t wait for the show…you don’t want to miss this!!! Don’t forget, just $1 gets you in the show and out of class! The band will be meeting with students during lunch and after the concert. Any girls or boys interested in joining or helping the swim team, there will be a short informational meeting on Friday, November 6, at 3:00 pm. Please bring contact information, swim suit size, and YMCA membership if you have one.

Daily Conditioning for Wrestling began yesterday, November 2, and will run all week from 3 to 4:30 at North Hills. All interested in wrestling please make plans to attend and bring tennis shoes and workout clothes.

There will be a student council meeting Thursday, November 5, in Mrs. Warren’s room 5B.

There will be a short Math Club meeting Wednesday, November 4, after school in room 214. Bring t-shirt designs.

Sophomores, Junior & Seniors: You may register for the Americanism test in the guidance office. This free test is provided by the American Legion Post 64 on November 5 during 2nd period. There will be a male and female winner from each class. The senior class winners qualify for a local scholarship. Remember that space is limited.

Juniors & Seniors: OGT make-up testing will take place during the week on November 2-5. If you need to make-up any remaining test(s), go to your 1st period class for attendance before reporting to the library.

ASVAB - The results are back and will be interpreted on Thursday, November 5, during 4th period.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Junior and seniors can sign up in the guidance office to see the University of Findley representative who will be here Wednesday during extra help. The Bowling Green State University rep will be available to meet with juniors and seniors on Thursday at 8:45 a.m.

On Wednesday, November 4, Mr. Leffingwell and Mr. Huffman will be speaking to the freshman and sophomores during extra help in the auditorium. On Thursday, November 5, they will be speaking with the juniors and seniors during extra help. Those juniors and seniors who come in late need to be here for this meeting. (Career Center and PSEO students need not attend)

Junior powder puff players have practice today at 4:00, Wednesday after school and Sunday at 2. Lastly remember to get your permission slips from Tammy Brooks and turn them into her no later than November 10.

Do you sing, dance, play an instrument or are you a comedian? Share your talent at the 3rd annual Yearbook Talent Show. You may pick-up a registration form in the office or from Mrs. Rhodes. Deadline for entries is November 15.

Student Council are selling T-shirts and asking for your support. You may see any council member for more information. The food drive is still going strong. Challenge the faculty to win this week.

Seniors Lifetouch will be here Monday, November 9 to take your picture for the composite. This starts at 1:00 p.m. goes until 5:30 p.m. with the cost of $5.00. This is also the picture retake/makeup day with pictures in the morning. Please if you would like to purchase a picture packet stop by the office to pick one up.

Any senior who is applying for admission to the University of Cincinnati needs to do so by December 1 in order to be eligible for the Cincinnatus Scholarship. See Mr. Defibaugh soon for details.

O. U. Z. is hosting a Green & White Night Tuesday November 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Elson Hall. Please read the handout being passed out in Mrs. Meredith’s 1st and 2nd periods.

This is a reminder to all Fort Frye students that through November 13, will be the Yearbook presale. High school books are $40 and Jr. high books are $15. An order form was mailed home. Extra forms are in the high school office. Drop off you order with any yearbook representative during all lunches.

The Golf Banquet will be held Tuesday, November 10, at 6:30 PM in the high school cafeteria. Please take two covered dishes and eating utensils. Drinks will be provided. Awards will be presented.

Mr. McKay from Balfour will be here today to deliver class rings and to take more orders from seniors for graduation items.

The volleyball banquet will be held November 12 at 6:30 PM. Please bring two covered dishes and table service. Take all uniforms to Mr. Pfeffer’s room as soon as possible.

Football equipment will be turned in tomorrow after school at the Field House. All equipment should be washed and play books are to be handed in also. Basketball players need to see a coach if they cannot attend.

Baseball field maintenance day will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 9:30 AM until 3:00 PM. Please wear work clothes. If you have any questions, contact Coach Bidwell.

All potential junior high boys’ basketball players need to have their forms in to Coach Bostic in Room 204 by today.

Boys basketball try outs are Friday, Nov. 6, at 3:15 – 6:15. Wear Warren practice gear.

Any junior or senior boy interested in cheerleading for powder puff should see Brianna Osborne and have practice tomorrow at 3:30 building 6 lobby.

All juniors and seniors in powder puff including coaches and cheerleaders need to report to building 6 first thing Friday morning for pictures.

Attention Sophomores: Sign up for the PLAN test is in the guidance office. The PLAN test will be administered on Nov. 19.

Winter Sports picture day is Nov. 11. Freshman, JV, and Varsity cheerleading at 10:30 am; Freshman, JV, Varsity Girls basketball at 11:30 am and Freshman, JV and Varsity Boys basketball will be at 1:00 pm. Any student planning on playing baseball in the spring should attend the meeting on Friday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 in building 6.

Attention 7th & 8th grad boys’ basketball players—boys’ junior high tryout practice will be after school at Lowell Elementary beginning today. All players are to ride bus #8 to Lowell for practice. It is the bus directly behind the Career Center bus close to the gym entrance. All players need to have papers and forms in and proper practice gear. Players will need to have parents pick them up at 5:15 PM at Lowell.

The library will be open every period to study hall students today.

All FCCLA members who sold cookbooks may pick up their orders in the Home Ec. Kitchen. Also, there will be a FCCLA meeting Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 AM.

Attention juniors and seniors—Field trip permission slips for the Kent State/Akron trip are due in the guidance office by 8:00 AM on Tuesday, November 10. At this time, the bus is not full, however it is a first-come-first-serve basis.

Tomorrow cross country will run in Columbus. The bus leaves at 7:15 AM. Good luck to Sarah Biehl and Jeremy Anderson.

Varsity/JV girls basketball will scrimmage Trimble at 10:00 AM in the high school gym.

There will be a Jr. High Fall Dance on Tuesday, November 10, from 7:00 – 9:30 PM in the small gym.

1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Golf Banquet will be held Tuesday, November 10, at 6:30 PM in the high school cafeteria. Please take two covered dishes and eating utensils. Drinks will be provided. Awards will be presented.

The volleyball banquet will be held November 12 at 6:30 PM. Please bring two covered dishes and table service. Take all uniforms to Mr. Pfeffer’s room as soon as possible.

All FCCLA members who sold cookbooks may pick up their orders in the Home Ec. Kitchen. Also, there will be a FCCLA meeting Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 AM.

The library will be open every period to study hall students today.

Picture retakes for grade 7-11 will be on Friday, November 13. Students will be called from class as needed.

Fort Frye High School would like to begin an afterschool tutoring program on Wednesdays from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. with qualified juniors and seniors to serve as tutors. Pay is $7.30 per hour. Any interested junior or senior should pick up an application in the high school office. Deadline is November 13. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Sleek.

The football banquet will be held on Thursday, November 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Please take two covered dishes and table service—drinks will be provided.

There will be a Jr. High Fall Dance on Tuesday, November 10, from 7:00 – 9:30 PM in the small gym.

This is a reminder—there will be no school on Wednesday due to Veteran’s Day. Please go out and support our Veterans.

It’s time to vote for senior personalities. Any senior at the voc. school may stop by the office to vote on this vote needs to be done by Friday December 4.

Seniors don’t forget to check with the college or university’s application deadlines soon so you stay eligible for scholarships available.

Any junior wanting to attend the Summer Leader’s Seminar at the United States Military Academy at West Point should see Mr. Defibaugh for a brochure and application details.

Any senior who is applying for admission to the University of Cincinnati needs to do so by December 1 in order to be eligible for the Cincinnatus Scholarship. See Mr. Defibaugh soon for details.

O. U. Z. is hosting a Green & White Night tomorrow night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Elson Hall.

Students anytime you have a check or money to put on your lunch account please take it to the library following announcements. This would be more than today’s lunch. School fees will have to be paid before you receive your next report card.

We will be holding a H1N1 vaccination clinic on Thursday, November 19, and Friday, November 20, during English classes. Turn in your H1N1 permission slip to the main office before Thursday.

The SADD Club would like to recognize the following students for their participation Saturday evening during the Tip’s for Troops benefit held at the Lafayette Hotel. All moneys raised from this benefit will help put together care packages for our service men and women stationed overseas.
