Seniors Lifetouch will be here today to take your picture for the composite. This starts at 1:00 p.m. goes until 5:30 p.m. with the cost of $5.00. This is a reminder to all Fort Frye students that through November 13, will be the Yearbook presale. High school books are $40 and Jr. high books are $15. An order form was mailed home. Extra forms are in the high school office. Drop off you order with any yearbook representative during all lunches.

The Golf Banquet will be held Tuesday, November 10, at 6:30 PM in the high school cafeteria. Please take two covered dishes and eating utensils. Drinks will be provided. Awards will be presented.

The volleyball banquet will be held November 12 at 6:30 PM. Please bring two covered dishes and table service. Take all uniforms to Mr. Pfeffer’s room as soon as possible.

All FCCLA members who sold cookbooks may pick up their orders in the Home Ec. Kitchen. Also, there will be a FCCLA meeting Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 AM.

The library will be open every period to study hall students today.

Attention juniors and seniors—Field trip permission slips for the Kent State/Akron trip are due in the guidance office by 8:00 AM on Tuesday, November 10. At this time, the bus is not full, however it is a first-come-first-serve basis.

Picture retakes for grade 7-11 will be on Friday, November 13. Students will be called from class as needed.

Fort Frye High School would like to begin an afterschool tutoring program on Wednesdays from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. with qualified juniors and seniors to serve as tutors. Pay is $7.30 per hour. Any interested junior or senior should pick up an application in the high school office. Deadline is November 13. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Sleek.

The football banquet will be held on Thursday, November 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Please take two covered dishes and table service—drinks will be provided.

There will be a Jr. High Fall Dance on Tuesday, November 10, from 7:00 – 9:30 PM in the small gym.

This is a reminder—there will be no school on Wednesday due to Veteran’s Day. Please go out and support our Veterans.

The Saturday, November 21, grades 9 thru 12 are invited to a dance in the big gym from8:00 – 11:00 p.m. Cost is $3.00 for single, $5.00 for a couple. The dance is sponsored by the yearbook staff.

Congratulations to Hannah Beals for being selected for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference and to Emily Mason for being selected as the alternate.

The Environmental Awareness Club will meet this Friday after school in room 106. We are looking for new members to help in a community service project.

The library will be closed today, November 19.

We will be holding a H1N1 vaccination clinic today, November 19, and Friday, November 20, during English classes.

SADD is partnering up with the American Legion and collecting tips for troops. Donation boxes can be found in a number of classrooms, and in the office. For every $10 raised, one care package is made and sent to the troops. Donation boxes will be collected Friday, November 20, at the end of the day.

There will be a student council meeting today, November 19, in Mrs. Warren’s room during 4th period.

Spanish Club will be meeting today, November 19, and discussing piñatas at 2:45 in room 304. We’re still accepting members!

American Legion Post 64 has announced the male and female winners of the Americanism test from each class. The senior class winners are Blair Gunovich, Sarah Sibicky & Stephanie Williams. The Battle of the Bands competition will be held in the auditorium on November 24 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold in advance for $5.00 at lunch starting Friday, November 20. Or you can see a choral member. Tickets will be sold at the door for $7.00.

Congratulations seniors! You met 3 of your 5 student goals. The goal categories met were GPA, suspensions, and tardies. Each senior will be entitled to a homework pass and a free ice cream pass, which will be redeemable in the cafeteria at lunch. All seniors should report to the cafeteria annex on Monday, Nov. 23, at the end of homeroom, to get your homework and ice cream pass.

Boys basketball t-shirts will be in today. See Coach Maddox sometime today.

There is a sign up sheet in the cafeteria during lunch for students to order student section shirts. You only need your size and no money at this time. Sign up by Nov. 25.
