Grants are awarded based on demonstrated financial need. Best of all, they don’t need to be repaid. Keep in mind that all grants have different eligibility requirements. Eligibility for need-based grants is determined using federal or state formulas and the information you provide on your FAFSA, which you must complete in order to qualify for the following programs:

Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant is a federally funded, need-based grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. Keep in mind that every student has a finite amount of Pell grant to use within their entire lifetime. This is particularly important for students who decide to continue their education beyond their associate degree program.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

Our office awards the FSEOG, a federally funded, need-based grant. This grant is awarded only to Pell Grant-eligible students. Award amounts vary.

Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG)

OCOG is grant money reserved specifically for Ohio residents who demonstrate the highest levels of financial need. Recipients must be enrolled at Ohio public colleges or universities, Ohio private, non-profit colleges or universities, and Ohio private, for-profit institutions.
