Institutional Scholarships

 
Choose Ohio First Scholarship is sponsored in part by the Choose Ohio First Scholarship program. The mission of the scholarship is to encourage students to complete degrees in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) at Washington State Community College (WSCC). WSCC will award 12 scholarships to students pursuing an associates degree in Mechanical Engineering at WSCC. Applications are available HERE. Deadline to apply is July 1, 2014.
 
 
The Evergreen Scholarship Program for West Virginia residents is intended to encourage enrollment in designated programs at Washington State Community College (WSCC). WSCC will award up to 45 scholarships to students based on the strength of the applicants. Scholarship awards shall be applied to the cost of tuition only. The per student scholarship award is $1200.00 per term ($2400.00 per year) with a maximum of $4800.00 over a two-year period. WV residents of Brooke, Hancock, Jackson, Marshall, Ohio, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wetzel, Wirt and Wood, and enrollment in one of the following majors are eligible: Geoscience, Fine Arts Transfer, Liberal Arts Transfer, Education Transfer, Medical Administrative Assistant, Executive Administrative Assistant, Digital Technologies-Computer Graphics, Electrical Engineering Technology - Instrumentation, Control and Electrical, Industrial Technology - Design Drafting, Process Technician. The GED Scholarship is available to an Ohio resident who is a current recipient of the GED (General Education Development) and who is a first-time student planning to enroll for at least six credit hours in day or evening classes. The scholarship is $2500 for the year ($1250.00 per semester of full time enrollment).The scholarship is renewable each semester during the first academic year upon maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and Ohio residency. The scholarship covers tuition only and will adjust for less than full time tuition. Any scholarship money that is not used in the first year will not be carried over. Applications are available HERE. Deadline to apply is April 15, 2014.
 
 
Honors Scholarships are in the amount of $2500 per academic year, or approximately $1250 per semester to be utilized for tuition expenses only. The scholarships are awarded to students who are residents of Washington or Morgan counties who graduated with a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.25 or above on a 4.00 scale or who have a composite score of 25 on the ACT or an equivalent composite on the SAT. In addition, any student who has completed credits at WSCC through the Early Enrollment Program, Dual Enrollment Program, or the PSEO program must have a cumulative WSCC grade point average of 3.0 to be eligible for this award. Washington and Morgan county residents who graduate from private high schools or who complete a home-schooling curriculum with the required grades or test scores are also eligible. To receive the scholarship a student must enroll as a full-time student (12 or more credit hours) at Washington State Community College in the fall semester immediately following high school graduation. The Non-Traditional Scholarship is available to a first-time student who is an Ohio resident and who plans to enroll for at least six credit hours in day or evening classes. To meet the definition of “Non-traditional” the student must have been out of high school for at least 12 months. The scholarship is $2500 for the year ($1250.00 per semester of full time enrollment). The scholarship is renewable each semester during the first academic year upon maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, half-time enrollment and Ohio residency. The scholarship covers tuition only and will adjust for less than full time tuition. Any scholarship money that is not used in the first year will not be carried over. Any person who is 60 years of age or older, having resided in Ohio for one year or having relocated to Ohio for retirement, may attend credit courses and classes with a tuition scholarship. This scholarship does not cover other fees. There is no application, check with Student Services for more information.
 
 
Tech Prep Scholarships are available to Ohio residents who will enroll full-time and who will be graduated from a Tech Prep program. Three $2500 Tech Prep Scholarships will be awarded fall term and are renewable for a total of four academic semesters of continuous full-time enrollment (summer term optional) upon maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and Ohio residency. Up to fifteen $500 Tech Prep Scholarships will also be awarded for Spring semester 2015 upon receiving at least a 2.5 GPA for Fall semester 2014. Applications are available HERE. Trustee Scholarships are available to Ohio residents who will be 2014 graduates and who plan to enroll as a full-time student beginning the fall 2014 semester. The scholarship is awarded in the amount of $2500 for the year ($1250 per semester) for tuition only. The scholarships are renewable for the Spring semester during the first year upon maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, full-time enrollment and Ohio residency. Outside Scholarships

 
J. Bryan and Norma R. McCann Charitable and Educational Trust Scholarships are available to graduating Seniors and 1st, 2nd and 3rd year College students who are graduates of Fort Frye High School or any public or private high school in Washington County, Ohio. Applications are available HERE. Deadline to apply is April 25, 2014.
 

 
Kibble Foundation Scholarship applicants must be U.S. citizens and a graduate of Meigs County High School. To be eligible you must be a full-time student. Applications are available HEREDeadline to apply is May 15, 2014. 
 

 
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is looking for students who qualify for the 2014-2015 academic year scholarship. Application forms are available online at www.mcsf.org.
 

 
To be eligible, students must be transferring from a participating OTC college to a participating OTC college. Both colleges must be participating member of the Ohio Transfer Council. Transfer students must have completed at least 30 semester credit hours OR 45 quarter credit hours. Transfer students must have maintained a 2.5 cumulative grade point average during their undergraduate coursework. Students may apply by downloading an application at www.ohiotransfer.org.
 

 
The eligibility requirements for students applying for the Robert E. Evans scholarship are (a.) each student shall have a GPA of 2.8 or higher, (b.) awards will be made to students based on demonstration of financial need (c.) applicants will be from the market area served by Peoples Bank, (d.) awards are for high school seniors pursuing a four-year degree in the areas of business or liberal arts. Applications are available HEREDeadline to apply is March 31, 2014.

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship applicants must be undertaking a business or business-related program at an accredited university/college/institute, enrolled in at least the second year of an undergraduate program through the final year of a Master's program, achieved an outstanding academic record during academic studies, including business-related subjects, and demonstrated initiative, ambition and commitment to pursuing a career in business. Applications are available HERE. Deadline to apply is May 5, 2014.
