Free money? Yes, please. Scholarships are a well-known form of gift aid that doesn’t require repayment. We consider a variety of factors when awarding them, including academic achievement, talent, leadership, geographical location, field of study, or financial need. WSCO students can benefit from multiple sources of scholarships, including institutional scholarships as well as WSCO Foundation scholarships. Be sure to pay attention to scholarship requirements and deadlines.

Fall 2024 Scholarship Opportunities - One and Done

WSCO is simplifying the scholarship search! One application. One deadline. Thousands of dollars in scholarships at your fingertips. Whether you are a high school senior, current WSCO student or a returning student, you only complete one application. Your application, GPA, and credits earned are then used to enter you for multiple competitive scholarships.

To be considered, all applicants must complete the following by April 1, 2024:

  •  Submit a complete scholarship application.
  •  Been accepted to Washington State College of Ohio
  •  New Students and high school seniors must submit a high school transcript by the deadline for consideration of most scholarships.
  •  Submit a 2024/2025 FAFSA to Washington State College of Ohio
  •  The Washington Scholars Award and some Foundation Scholarships require a recommendation. Please send the letter of recommendation or the completed recommendation form  to WSCO Financial Aid, 710 Colegate Dr., Marietta, OH 45750 or finaid@wscc.edu. You can also direct your references to complete the online letter of recommendation.

WSCO Scholarship Program: For High School Seniors

The WSCO High School Senior scholarship descriptions are below. For consideration, please apply to Washington State, have a completed FAFSA on file, and a scholarship application turned in no later than March 15, 2024.

Washington Scholars Award

Washington Scholars Award is a competitive scholarship in the amount of full tuition (up to $5,100 per academic year), renewable for two years for a total of $10,200. The recipients will be selected from students who meet the criteria for the Presidential Scholarship.

For consideration, students must be accepted to WSCO and submit the following by March 15, 2023:

  •  The "One and Done" WSCO Scholarship application 
  •  2023-24 FAFSA
  •  Letter of recommendation or recommendation form
Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for $2,000 per academic year, renewable for two years for a total of $4,000. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 or a minimum of a 23 composite score on the ACT. Candidates must also test college-ready.

For consideration, students must be accepted to WSCO and submit the following by March 15, 2023:

  •  2023-24 FAFSA
Dean's Scholarship

The Dean's Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for $1,000 per academic year, renewable for two years for a total of $2,000. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or a minimum of a 20 composite score on the ACT. Candidates must also test college-ready.

For consideration, students must be accepted to WSCO and submit the following by March 15, 2023:

  •  The "One and Done" WSCO Scholarship application
  •  2023-24 FAFSA
Tech Prep Scholarship

The Tech Prep Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for $500-$2000 per academic year. This scholarship is renewable for two years and open to Ohio residents only that are also attending a career center.

For consideration, students must be accepted to WSCO and submit the following by March 15, 2023:

  •  2023-24 FAFSA

WSCO Scholarship Program: For High School Graduates/Current Students

The WSCO High School Graduate/Current Student scholarship descriptions are below. For consideration, please apply to Washington State, have a completed FAFSA on file, as well as a scholarship application.

Continuing Student Award

Continuing Student Award is a competitive scholarship for up to $1,000 to be split over Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. To be eligible, students must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at WSCO by the end of Spring 2024 semester.

For consideration, students must submit the following by March 15, 2024:

  •  2024-25 FAFSA
Be More Scholarship

The “Be More” scholarship is available to new students starting their school year at Washington State College of Ohio during the Fall 2023 semester. This includes new students and any student continuing their education that graduated high school prior to 2023 and did not attend WSCO during the 2022/23 academic year. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. The amount of the scholarship is up to $1,000 to be split over fall and spring semester. This scholarship is non-renewable. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (if applicable), be in good standing with Satisfactory Academic Progress, and be registered for 6 or more credit hours per semester. Deadline to apply is July 23rd, 2023 before midnight.

Spring Start Scholarship

Spring Start Scholarship is available to all students starting their school year at Washington State College of Ohio during the Spring 2024 semester. This includes new students and any student continuing their education after not attending during the Fall 2023 term. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. The amount of the scholarship is up to $1,000 and is for one semester and for tuition only.

For consideration, students must submit the following by December 4, 2023:

  •  Admission application
  •  Spring Start Application - Applications are now closed.
  •  2023-24 FAFSA

 

Spring Achievement Award

The Spring Achievement Award is a competitive scholarship for up to $1,000 to be used in the Spring 2024 semester. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled at WSCO in Fall 2023, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, be in good standing with Satisfactory Academic Progress, be degree-seeking, and be registered for 6 or more credit hours during Spring 2024 semester. Award amounts are based on a sliding scale that recognizes both academic merit and financial need. This scholarship is non-renewable and cannot be combined with other institutional scholarships (Washington Scholars, Presidential, Deans, Continuing Student Award, etc.). This does not include Foundation Scholarships. The Spring Achievement Award is tuition only for one semester only.

For consideration, students must submit this application and 2023-24 FAFSA by December 4, 2023.

Kibble Foundation

Application Deadline May 15, 2024

Kibble Foundation Scholarship is open to students planning to attend WSCO, OSU, OU, University of Rio Grande, Rio Grande Community College, Marietta College, or Hocking College and is a graduate of a Meigs County High School (including residents of Meigs County's Columbia Township who graduate from Alexander High School).

Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce

Must be postmarked or delivered by April 15th, 2024.

The scholarships will be used to help students from Washington and Wood Counties that want to remain in the area and either learn a trade or earn a degree. The scholarships are set aside for students attending the Washington County Career Center, Washington State College of Ohio, or Marietta College. The primary goal of this scholarship program is to help students break the cycle of poverty, raise their standard of living, and to contribute to the betterment of the community and our economy.

McCann Scholarship

J. Bryan and Norma R. McCann Charitable and Educational Trust is a scholarship available to graduating seniors and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year college students who are graduates of Fort Frye High School or any public or private high school in Washington County, Ohio.

For consideration, students must submit the following by April 15, 2024:
