Dr. Ebersole has had a 35 year career in community college education. He has taught sociology, directed a continuing education program and a corporate development center, served as assistant to the vice chancellor for Learning and Student Development at The Community College of Baltimore County, and was Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Baton Rouge Community College, Louisiana. In that position he helped lead the college through 25% growth in enrollment, the development of nearly 20 academic programs, and he served as the accreditation liaison for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools during the institution's reaffirmation. He held the position of Vice Chancellor from 2005 to 2011. Ebersole has also spent nearly 4 years living and teaching abroad including two years in Japan, a year in Europe, and he spent a semester teaching at a community college in Jamaica, West Indies.
Dr. Ebersole is a trained and practicing mediator and has made numerous presentations on conflict resolution. In addition he has served as an intern at the American Association of Community Colleges.
Ebersole holds his degrees from Catonsville Community College, Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Maryland. His wife, Gail Ebersole, is a retired public school administrator, he has two daughters who are 32 and 27 years old and one granddaughter.
