Convenience doesn't have to be at the expense of quality. At Washington State, we're proud to offer a variety of programs entirely online. Our online courses are mirror images of what is taught on our physical campus, and they are taught by faculty who have been specially trained to teach in the online environment.

Follow the steps below to enroll as an online student at WSCC:

  1. Complete our free application for admission. Only certain programs can be completed 100% online. For a complete list of WSCC's online programs, click here. If you are not an Ohio resident, learn more about State Authorization Regulations.

  2. Access your Washington State email and MyWSCC. Once you're accepted, you will receive an email with information on how to access MyWSCC and set up your student email account. Remember to check your WSCC email often for important information.

  3. Familiarize yourself with WSCC's online course environment by taking our free one-week Online Readiness Course. No commitment. No grade. Just a chance to try out the online format to make sure it's a good fit for you.

  4. Already have college credit? To transfer credit from another institution, forward all official transcripts directly from the previous institution(s) to: Washington State Community College, Attn: Records Office, 710 Colegate Drive, Marietta, OH 45750

  5. Apply for financial aid by completing a FAFSA and include WSCC's school code, 010453, at Be sure to also apply for WSCC scholarships. Learn more here. If you plan on using financial aid in an online program at WSCC, you will be asked to verify your identity and high school or GED completion by the Office of Financial Aid.

  6. Complete the placement assessment process to determine math & English course placement. You can choose the method of assessment that is used for placement.

    • Submit official ACT or SAT scores (scores are valid for two years)

    • Submit an official high school transcript (if you've graduated in the last two years)

    • Take the free Accuplacer test on the WSCC campus. Contact the WSCC Advising Office at 740-568-1930 to schedule your test. Don't forget to prep before the test.

    • If you're an online student, check out the online assessment procedure.

  7. Register for classes and set up payment arrangements. Remember to register early for the best selection of course times and formats. All fees must be paid by the published Washington State fee payment deadline dates. You can pay in full conveniently online through WebAdvisor. Payment plans are also available but must be set up in person at the WSCC Business Office.

  8. Complete our mandatory new student orientation. Yep, it's mandatory because student success begins with a great orientation.

Washington State offers two remote testing option for students. This option is available only to students seeking one of our online degree/certificate programs. As of July 2017, WSCC offers three fully online programs: Business Management, Liberal Arts Transfer, and Chemical Operator (certificate). For more information on these programs, click here.

Option 1: Online (Preferred)

This will enable you to take the ACCUPLACER test from the convenience of your home. The test will be proctored through BVirtual and costs $25.00. You must have a government-issued ID and and have a computer that meets the technical specifications required for testing.

Option 2: Approved Testing Center

This will enable you to take your ACCUPLACER test at an approved testing center located throughout the United States. Testing sites can include any accredited college/university that offers ACCUPLACER testing. The cost for this option will vary based on the chosen testing center. You may also choose from a location approved through the National College Testing Association (NCTA). Click here for a list of approved sites. If you are taking courses through your company, please check with the WSCC Advising Office to see if your employer is an approved testing site.

Once you have decided which option is best for you, follow these simple steps to schedule your assessment.

  1. Complete our remote testing request form. You should complete the form after you have been accepted to WSCC.

  2. The WSCC Advising Office will contact you with a confirmation email that explains the next steps for completing your remote test.

  3. Once you have completed your placement test, your scores will be posted to student record and you will be contacted by WSCC to review your scores and schedule your courses.

Classes emphasize areas needed by today’s managers and business owners including:

  • Communication skills

The degree emphasizes courses in a wide variety of subject areas including: management, entrepreneurship, marketing, accounting, computer applications, database management , and international business.

Business management students can choose to complete the degree full or part-time. Classes are offered days, and evenings. Many courses are also offered online or in a blended format.
