OAST Medical Coding
The importance of Medical Coding is vital to the continuation of a medical facility. Medical coding is the first step in the medical billing process and involves using ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes. Washington State's Medical Coding Certificate of Completion includes classes which will prepare you to become a medical biller/coder.
The skills required to fulfill the need of this fast-paced, every-growing health coding facility can be obtained through the Medical Coding Certificate of Completion. Students will complete intensive coursework in Anatomy & Physiology I and II, CPT Coding, ICD-10 coding, Principles of Reimbursement, and Medical Billing. This curriculum will provide a foundation to prepare individuals to take a coding certification exam.
Starting Fall 2012, the coding classes will begin each Fall Semester. Pre-requisites and the Medical Billing class may be completed anytime.
