Bonnie Proudfoot has an Art Ed and English Ed degree, an MA in English Literature from WVU and another MA in Creative Writing from Hollins University. She received a Fellowship for the Arts from the West Virginia Department of Culture and History. Her poetry and short fiction has received recognition in various competitions and has been published in several journals, including the Gettysburg Review, Kestrel, and the Sand Hills Review. Her first novel, Goshen Road, was published by Swallow Press in January of 2020, and was selected by the Women’s National Book Association for one of its Great Group Reads for 2020. The novel was also long-listed for the prestigious PEN/ Hemingway award for debut fiction. These days, Bonnie teaches writing courses online for West Virginia University. Along with writing, she works on glass art in her Athens studio.
