About the Position

Washington State Community College invites applications for the position of full-time Director of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

OTA is a new program that the Ohio Department of Higher Education has approved WSCC to offer to its students. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who wants to develop their dream program.

The program director (PD) will be responsible for the initial and continued successful accreditation/approval of a program through leadership and management. As a PD, this individual will be responsible for curriculum, instruction, and will be an integral part of the student educational experience.

The PD will provide engaged instruction; develop curricula; conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessment; and advise and support students. The PD will engage in the professional work to advance the College’s mission by participating in institutional advancement, professional development, and community service in the pursuit of excellence.

 

Qualifications

Candidates must have administrative experience to include program planning, and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting, as well as experience with OTAs.  Other qualifications include two years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-secondary level; a current, valid license as a registered OT or OTA in Ohio; and evidence of professional development in the field of Occupational Therapy.

Education Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of a Master's Degree with at least five years of experience, including experience in clinical practice as an OT or OA, as well as two years experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-secondary level.
