MARIETTA, OHIO (October 4, 2018)– Peoples Bank recently established a new $60,000 scholarship fund through the Washington State College of Ohio Foundation. The fund was created to help deserving students achieve their academic and career goals.

“At Peoples Bank, we know that education is key in increasing an individual’s likelihood of success,” said Shawn Taylor, Peoples Bank Vice President, Marietta Market Team Leader. “This scholarship fund will help enable WSCO students to achieve that success, and in turn, contribute to the success of our community.”

The Peoples Bank Scholarship will provide financial support to students in good academic standing, with a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship will annually provide five $1,000 scholarships for students who reside in Washington or Morgan counties and are enrolled in a degree program.

“This contribution will play a critical role in the success of our students,” said WSCO President Dr. Vicky Wood. “The generosity of Peoples Bank is an investment in our students’ futures as well as our community because when our students prosper, our community benefits.”
