MARIETTA, OH —Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) invites students and parents to explore the college search process at the first annual Marietta Area College Fair. The fair will be held in the WSCO Student Commons on Thursday, October 21 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. This event is free and open to the public. Masks are required to comply with our campus-wide masking policy.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with admission representatives from more than a dozen public and private colleges and universities. Both two-year and four- year schools will be featured. From high school juniors and seniors to adult learners or soon-to-be college graduates, this event has something to offer anyone looking to further their education.

Financial aid professionals will also be on site to help students complete their 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students planning to attend college should complete the FAFSA to ensure they are considered for all types of financial aid including Pell grants, federal student loans as well as scholarships. This free workshop will assist families, regardless of the college in which they plan to attend, with filing the FAFSA by providing hands-on support from financial aid staff to answer questions throughout the filing process. Students are encouraged to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible to make sure they receive full consideration for all types of scholarships and need-based aid.

“With this event, we hope to fill a need for the community as well as for our fellow educational institutions,” said Chey Parsons, WSCO College Pathway Advisor. “COVID has limited opportunities for students to visit these schools, in-person, so this is a great opportunity to take advantage of while some of these institutions will all be under one roof.”
