WSCO Food Pantry

On our campus, food insecurity is very real and if you are experiencing it right now, you need to know you are not alone. More importantly, we want you to know that your campus family cares and we want to help. That's why we divised the WSCO Food Pantry. This critically important campus resource is the result of a generous grant from the Marietta Welfare League.

Goal

The WSCO Food Pantry distributes nutritious emergency food to students and their families. To aid in our success, we are working in collaboration with the Marietta Community Food Pantry, the Southeastern Ohio Food Bank, Washington County Harvest of Hope, and other pantries in the region.

Our pantry is a choice pantry. It is set up to resemble a grocery store experience. Students receive a certain number of points each week that they can use to select items from the pantry. Points are based upon family size. We provide ongoing help to students and their families, as well as emergency assistance when needed. Our goal is to serve as many students as possible. We welcome monetary and non-perishable food donations, as well as volunteers.

How to Apply

All students who suffer food insecurity are urged to apply. Applications are collected and reviewed to select those most in need.

Food Pantry Application

Access

As a Choice Pantry, students have the flexibility of selecting food items that suit their taste/diet. They are, however, limited on the amount of food they can request from each category. These limits are based on available inventory and the student’s family situation.

*While use of the pantry is anonymous, it's important to note that students are required to show their ID when picking up food.

Location

The food pantry is located in the CSS/Library building and can be accessed from the upper student parking lot from either the rear or main entrances.

Hours

Pantry pick-ups can be made Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
