Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) Alpha Rho Gamma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) welcomed new faces.

MARIETTA, OH – As 2019 came to a close, the Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) Alpha Rho Gamma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) welcomed new faces. The annual winter ceremony inducted 25 new members.

New members include: Mary Jo Barth, Madelynn Bennett, Erin Coen, Jeannette Eason, Jared Farnsworth, Madison Galloway, Tyler Grose, Paige Hartley, Julia Hinzman, Sydney Huffman, Tanner Hurst, Janssen Kesterson, Christopher Lamp, Breanna Lowe, McKayla McClain, Alec Mallett, Olivia Paugstat, Christie Piersol, Kelly Rollins, Preston Smith, Crystal Staats, Lydia Steyn, Alexander Temesvary, Brooke Tuttle, and Caitlyn Walker.

PTK is the national honor society of community colleges. It was established in 1918 and is recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges as the official honor society for two-year colleges. Membership is extended to every student who completes at least 12 credit hours (excluding developmental coursework) with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5.

In addition to academic excellence, PTK members demonstrate leadership and service within the community. Recently, the chapter partnered with the WSCO Veterans Club to host a Pancake Breakfast with Santa fundraiser at the Marietta Applebee’s. Currently, the chapter is preparing its application for the society’s Hallmark Awards.
