We offer two engineering majors. You can choose Electrical Engineering or Advanced Manufacturing & Integration Technology. Both programs are designed to give you the fundamental classes necessary to open a world of opportunity for you. As a graduate, you can immediately begin working in the industry or can transfer to a four-year college and earn a bachelor's degree.
The Advanced Manufacturing & Integration Technology (AMIT) associate degree program blends mechanical and electrical engineering with robotics and control systems to form an interdisciplinary program that maximizes transferable skills.
The AMIT program at WSCC is endorsed by the ARM Institute. The ARM Endorsement is awarded to institutions that are the most effective at preparing students for careers in manufacturing working with robotics. Our program is one of only 14 in the country to hold the ARM Institute Endorsement. This credential identifies WSCC as one of the nation’s most effective training programs for robotics careers in manufacturing.
Through robotics courses, students will learn automation, coding, machining processes and computer programming used for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) which run manufacturing lines. Courses focus on honing skills that prepare students for a variety of careers in engineering, industry, and more. Courses focus on mechanical and electrical engineering, robotic diagnostics and servicing, and automation.
Graduates can work as mechanical engineering technologists to help engineers design, develop, test, and manufacture industrial machinery, consumer products, and other equipment, or go into careers that work with a variety of mechanical systems, learn computer-aided drafting applications, understand simple machines and processes, and more. Some career opportunities for graduates include automotive design, quality assurance, project management, field technician, quality control, and lab testing.
WSCC also provides clear pathways for students to continue their education to earn a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology.
