Position Details

Washington State College of Ohio is currently accepting applications for the positions of:

  • Director of Nursing
  • Full-time Nursing Faculty

The Director of Nursing will be responsible for facilitating the general operations of the Nursing Department across all pathways. You will provide engaging instruction, course, and student outcomes assessment; and advise and support students. You will also engage in professional work to advance the College’s mission by participating in institutional advancement, professional development, and community service in the pursuit of excellence.

Nursing Faculty will be responsible for curriculum, instruction, and will be an integral part of the student educational experience. You will provide engaged instruction; develop curricula; conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessment; direct and supervise the activities of a teaching assistant in the classroom and clinical facility; direct and supervise the activities of preceptors in a clinical facility; and advise and support students. You will also engage in professional work to advance the College’s mission by participating in institutional advancement, professional development, and community service in the pursuit of excellence.

 

Qualifications

The Director of Nursing must complete an approved professional nursing education program. You must also have at least five years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse, two of which have been as a faculty member in a registered nursing education program. You are also required to have a current active licensure as a Registered Nurse in Ohio and West Virginia, and provide evidence of professional development in the field of nursing.

Nursing Faculty candidates must complete an approved professional nursing education program. You must also have at least two years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse, have a current active licensure as a Registered Nurse in Ohio and West Virginia, and provide evidence of professional development in the field of nursing.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree; if you do not possess a bachelor of science in nursing degree, the master’s or other academic degree, including, but not limited to a Ph.D., shall be in nursing. Alternatively, if you possess a bachelor of science in nursing degree, the master’s degree may be, but is not required to be, in nursing. All degrees must be from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
