Certificate programs at Washington State are designed as fast-track that lead to direct employment. Many can be completed in less than a year. As an additional option, students can use credit earned in the certificate programs towards an associate degree at Washington State.
9-Month Certificate Programs
The accounting program provides a concentration of financial and managerial accounting with related business and technology courses, utilizing manual and computerized accounting systems and current software.

Our Automotive Service program features a large laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment for practical, hands-on experience. Students learn the use of conventional tools, as well as the new computerized engine analyzers. A certificate in automotive technician is available to those students who complete the first year of the program.

If you are interested in Diesel Truck Maintenance but would like to finish in a shorter time frame, we offer the Diesel Truck Maintenance One-Year Certificate. This certificate provides the foundation for an entry-level technician to gain employment in a myriad of industries, e.g., transportation, boats, trains, buses etc. According to a 2010 Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report, employment opportunities will see a 15 percent increase for the need for qualified diesel technicians by the year 2020.

1-Year Certificate Programs
The Massage Therapy program is offered as a 1-year full-time day program. Graduates of the program receive a certificate of completion, and are eligible to sit for the MBLEx National Test. To become a Licensed Massage Therapist in Ohio you must first pass the exam before applying to the state for licensure.

The Practical Nursing program is offered as either 1-year full-time day, or 2-year part-time evening classes. During the program, your studies will include both classroom and clinical experiences. Your classroom instruction will be enhanced by concurrent clinical participation at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Selby General Hospital, Harmar Place, and Heartland of Marietta. Additionally, you will gain experience through observational time with home nursing, nursery schools, physician offices, and clinics.
